A solar proposal can be packed with numbers. Reading it carefully helps you understand what you are paying for and how the estimates were built.

System size and equipment

Look for the total system size, usually in kilowatts, and the exact models of panels and inverters. Model numbers let you check specifications and warranties yourself.

Production estimates

Estimates depend on assumptions about weather, shade, orientation, and system losses. Ask how they were calculated and treat them as projections rather than guarantees.

Costs and payment schedule

  • Total price and what it includes

  • Deposit and payment milestones

  • Any incentives assumed in the price

  • Costs that could change after site review

Compare like with like

When you have more than one proposal, compare scope, equipment, and assumptions side by side. The lowest price is not always the best value if the scope is different.
